IKKI Eyrecourt
Sensei John Dolphin, 5th Dan Karatedo, 5th Dan Kobudo is the Head Instructor of the Eyrecourt Dojo. Sensei John began karate training in 1978 in the hombu in Ballinasloe under Sensei’s Richard Hayes and Leo Mulvany. John travelled to Toronto in 1991 to train and take part in the Canadian Championships.
He returned in 1994 to compete again and was ranked to Shodan by Tsumura Shihan and Nidan in 1997 again by Tsumura Shihan. Sensei John has competed in Itosu-ryu World Championships, Japan 2002, Los Angeles 2005, Malaysia 2009, Osaka, Japan in 2013 and Shanghai, China 2017 . John is also a Level 1 coach (Coaching Ireland) and John has attended International seminars and trained with Soke Sadaaki Sakagami in Japan, Canada and Malaysia.
John established the Eyrecourt Karate Club in 1998.
Eyrecourt Dojo Karate Classes:
Venue: Eyrecourt Community Hall, Eyrecourt, Co. Galway.
Class Times: Karate 7 – 8.30pm (Thursday).
Kobudo 7 – 9pm (3rd Thursday of every month)
